Weekend Yardsale Treasures

This weekend had our group up and out the door bright and early.  Aside from my daughter Amy (we've dubbed her Yardsale Betty because she likes to wear everything she buys all at one time), I was accompanied by my BFF Denise and thrifting mentor and dear friend Stacy.

Our first stop was a church flea market in Glassboro.  I'll let you in on a little secret that I mentioned here before, whenever a church sale is scheduled to start, always arrive 1/2 hour early.  Even if they won't let you in (they probably will) you can stand in line and be the first one in.  Often times the furniture pieces are all in one area so you can spot the good pieces right away and be the first one to grab it!  In this case, I spotted a gorgeous ornately carved demilune table with matching mirror.  It was being sold as a set for $10!  I snatched it up right away and started making my pile right on top of it!  It eventually went home with Stacy who just moved into a new home and has the room for it.  I'll see if she will send me a picture for a future post!

Here are some of the other treasures we found:

A beautiful Florentine wall shelf that I'm going to add to my Etsy store this week.

A great coffee table book that I will actually enjoy reading!

On our way to the next stop, a Rotary Club Flea Market, we passed another church sale and I purchased this amazing antique mirror, also for my store.

It's alot bigger than it looks.

Love the detail on this piece.

The Rotary sale was a big success for me.  I got these designer pillows for my sofa in the family room I just posted about here.

I got them both for $10.

This sweet night light came home with me for only $1.

She lights up my hallway perfectly.

The same woman sold me a set of red tablecloths for $2.

Don't worry, I promise not to try my hand at another scary tablescape with these! LOL!

Not much else to be found here, so we moved on to a neighborhood yard sale at nearby Wye Oak.

This sweet shelf may appear on my store, but I'm not sure if I can part with it yet.

These vintage billiard balls will definitely be found on my store.  I hate to part with them, but they are a perfect addition to my Etsy goodies.

Now tell me, have you ever seen such beautiful vintage balls???  The colors are just amazing, and I love how the numbers have aged.

Loved this large green serving bowl.  It was a steal for $1.

This adorable little lampshade was only fifty cents.  I may switch it out with the one I have on my kitchen hutch.

I'm always looking for good floral pieces at yardsales.  This fern was gorgeous and its label said Home Interiors, so I know I got a good deal for only $2.

As always I've saved my favorite find of the day for last.  I found this awesome necklace in the bottom of a box of junk jewelry.  It was tarnished a bit, but I asked how much and when the owner said 25 cents, I thought, why not!  Even if it's a piece of junk I'm only out a quarter!  Well, as soon as I walked away I turned that baby around and you guessed it, I spotted those three itty bitty numbers .925 .  SCORE!!!  I came home and pulled out my Wrights Silver Cleaner and polished her right up!  This is her around my neck.

Not a great pic, but the first charm is a small silver heart with CZ chips and the larger heart behind it is marcasite.  I just love this because I can wear it everyday.  Even the chain is real silver!

Not to be forgotten is the vanity set that was on a neighbor's curb this afternoon.

Just needs a little cleaning and she'll be good to go!

Kim,
You did good girl! Love that mirror and you scored on the necklace! I would have a hard time parting with the shelf, too!

Love those vintage balls. May have to buy some of those unless I find some. I have only seen new ones at a local flea market. Those old ones would be much better. Great finds. Love that ornate mirror and the pillows are perfect.

You did great! What I love is the furniture and chandeliers stored in your garage - signs of a true thrifter/furniture lover. I'm not sure if I could part with the pretty white shelf either.

As always, very impressed with your finds. I love the little shelfs and the billard balls. That necklace is quite a steal as well. Glad you had a good yardsale finds day.

Wow - nice haul! I passed by a lot of yard sales on Saturday, but was good and kept the car moving. :D
Have a great week.

What a day you had! You found some great things with great prices. I haven't seen any church sales around me, but maybe I should look into that. Good to know to get there early. You weren't worried about stacking your stuff up and someone coming by and taking from it? I'd probably pay for each thing and bring it to the car and then come back! : )

What fun you must have had to find all that. I have had terrible luck for the last 2 weeks. I have been empty handed. This next weekend is crazy busy so not sure if I will find time, but if I do maybe 3rd time is a charm. Glad you did so good. I like the pool balls a bunch.

Everything you found was just mah-vah-lous!! Love the curbside vanity find, as well as that mirror and the shelf. I found old pool balls recently, too, and I love the faded colors, as well. Over from Rhoda's party to see your finds.

Great finds, especially the vanity set! Church sales are fun and the majority of them will let you in before starting time, but we have one chusrch who will not open the doors until exactly 7:00!
