Cottage White

I did some painting recently for a friend and as a thank-you she gave me this cute little table.

I have no before pic, but in it's former life it was brown and now it's white.  Cottage white.
Accessorized with lots of color!!

Fun, fun, fun.

About a week later I found a vintage kitchen cabinet on Craig for a steal.  This time I remembered to take a before picture.  But then a certain teenager decided to borrow my memory card for a school trip and long story short - it's gone baby gone.  So just close your eyes and imagine a dull, brown, boring cabinet.  Now open your eyes!

I painted it white.  Cottage White.  And in between coats I took a lunch break where I got Pinspired to paint the back of the cabinet a different color.

Overall I think these two are a great addition to the family.....room.  Whatdya think?

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulicious week!

Adding Turquoise To The Master

Turquoise.  The new "it" color is invading my house.  I've been adding touches of it everywhere and most recently to the master bedroom.  I scored a vintage dresser for like $25 a couple of months ago with every intention of adding it to the booth, but after painting it (turquoise) I had to keep it.

Isn't she lovely?

The color is Martha Stewart Duck Egg.  We are making our own chalk paint these days.  I distressed her just a tad, because, well, she really has enough fabulousity all on her own, don'tcha think?

Here's my tip of the day, for what it's worth.  When you are out and about, if you spot a tray of any shape or kind, don't ever, EVER, pass it up.  You can always find a place for one.  Always!

I recently bought this comforter set from Joss and Main for like, dirt cheap.

Just enough turquoise, but not too much.  I wanted the dresser to stand out.

This chair was a gift.  Like the best gift ever!!  It came from my dear friend Christina.  I obsessed over it every time I went to her house.  I think she just got sick of hearing me beg...

My dressing area in the corner.

Still love my thrifted night table.  It cost $3.  What's not to love?

And my $50 chandy.  I got it from Craig.  He's nice like that :)
The artwork and sunburst mirror are all yardsale finds.

Question:  why is turquoise so hard to type?  It's like porpoise, or tortoise.  I always have to stop and think before I type.  Annoying!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulicious day!

Adding Some Bling

Jersey girls love us some good bling.  We don't leave the house without it.  And lately, nothing IN my house seems to be without it either.  Embellishments are my new favorite bling.  Sometimes you just walk past a random object and realize it needs a little some'n some'n.  That's when you need to bling.

Like the mirror over my sofa in the Family Room.

I added some felty fun with a hot glue gun.

And just like that, she's a Jersey Girl.

Give a little love today - add some bling to any old thing.  If you're not crafty like me you can check out Etsy for some awesome embellishments.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blingalicious day!

DIY Sink Skirt

Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers.  Things are back to normal at the barn, and would you believe we have seen more customers come through since the shooting than before??  I thought for sure it would hurt business!

Its cold and rainy outside with a Winter storm brewing, bringing snow tonite.  But inside I'm dreaming of Spring and anxious to see warmer weather.

In the kitchen I've been bringing more of my new favorite color - Turquoise.  I just can't seem to get enough of it these days.  I recently ordered this cute Eat sign from Etsy and love how it looks over my sink.

Speaking of sink, you may be able to spy with your little eye my new sink skirt.

I made it myself!  Well, not really.  It's actually a vintage half apron that I thumbtacked to the frame.

The best part about using an apron as a sink skirt is you get to store stuff in it - and who doesn't love extra storage?

I got this tool box at the flea last weekend and I love it on my counter storing "stuff".

Got these cute little alphabet letters at Pottery Barn Kids for Cole to play with, but I think I'm having more fun playing with them that he is.

What color are you obsessed with these days??

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulicious day!
