Last week I posted pictures of my Kitchen and you were all so gracious with your sweet comments. Thank you all. I continue to be amazed at the warm and wonderful spirit that pervades here in blogland. It's so great to be able to open your home to others and receive heartfelt feedback. You all are the best.
So in that spirit, today I'm welcoming you into my favorite room of our home, the Family Room, otherwise known as the Wreck Rec Room! Ha! Now I know what you're all thinking, it doesn't look that bad. Well that's because I cleaned it up real good just for you! Translation, I picked up last week's newspapers from off the floor, scooped up the popcorn that didn't make it into our mouths while watching Idol, and shoved leftover puzzle pieces under the sofa. Now don't you feel special?
So come on in and take a look around. I hope you find it as comfy as we do here at the Bliss House!
This here is the view from when you first walk in through the foyer. The mantle is my most favorite part of this room.
Someone had a mantle party recently and I posted about this project there. Mr. Bliss and I created mantle together. It was a really fun project.
The bench came from Craig's List, wall decor from a yard sale, arrangment from Michael's, candlesticks from Walmart and "M" from Hobby Lobby using a gift card I won.
The entertainment center is from Sam's Club. We needed a really big piece for this large empty wall.
Some small vignettes on top.
The old camera was given to me by my mother and the oil can came from my Father-in-Law.
This chair was given to me by a very close friend of mine, Michelle. We were visiting her home not too long ago and I spotted it sitting in her basement. I commented on how beautiful it was and she told me to take it home with me! I was thrilled and it goes perfectly in this room. The little side table next to it is from Ross.
It's hard to tell from the pic but the top is a faux leather that's really pretty. That's my Great-Grandmother in the picture.
The view from the other side of the entertainment center. That old secretary belonged to my Great-Grandmother's brother. It's pretty beat up, but I decided not to have it restored. I kinda like it the way it is.
Lamp is from Burlington.
All of these items were from yardsales.
A better view of this side of the room.
The sofa and loveseat are also from Sam's as is the large mirror. There are accent pillows that go on the sofa/loveseat, but I removed them to be cleaned.
My Craig's List coffee table. All pieces on top are from yardsales as well.
The area rug is from the Penney's catalog.
This is the view looking from the back sliders in the kitchen. That is the door leading to the basement. The ornament over the door came from a yardsale last year. That's my foyer leading to the front of the house on the left.
Another view of my favorite chair. The window treatments are from Target. Wall color is Baer Paint Harvest Brown from Home Depot.
A view of the loveseat. Behind it is my little room divider from Kirklands.
A vignette on my pie crust table next to the loveseat. That little teacup and saucer set is a gift from my dear friend Stacy. I had my eye on it a few months back at an antique store and she surprised me with it for my anniversary. Thanks Stacy!
Thanks for visiting! I hope you enjoyed the tour of our favorite room! Today I'm linking up with:

What a beautiful room! I love the color of chenille on your sofa! I want to have mine reupholstered in a similiar fabric, so nice to see it here before I take the plunge! LOVEEEE your old camera, I look for these when I'm out and about. Your accessories are wonderful and your room is elegant yet cozy! :)

You've put together a lovely room! I like what you've picked up at yard sales too. I just asked my husband if one of the men in your sidebar was Babe Ruth, since you didn't fully say, but that it was a priceless photo. And he said yes it was. Me, I wouldn't know these things.

I just found your blog today - I'm interested in the details of building your mantle. I REALLY need a mantle. :) Did you post about that? Thanks.
Your rooms look fantastic! I'm jealous of your rummage sale finds - wow!!!
Your room is beautiful.
My eye was immediately drawn to the old secretary. It is such a fabulous piece. And the fact that it's an heirloom makes it that much more incredible.
I have a piece from my grandmother that I treasure. Like you, I have chosen not to restore it. It's so much more hers the way it is -- and that's why I love it.
