Family Room Changes

I had a stomach bug this week and was housebound for a couple days.  SO I did some looking around and decided to make a few changes.

My friend's hubby does drywall and was fixing some holes in oldest daughter's bedroom and I asked him to fix the holes behind the huge mirror in the Family Room.

Once it came down, I decided to make a new wallscape in its place, adding.more.holes...

I had the mirror here for several years, and while I absolutely love it, I decided it was time for a change.  I will hold on to it though, because I never know when I will get the itch to change things again.

What a crappy picture, huh?  That's when I was in my experimenting phase.  With my camera I mean.  What did you think I meant???

Anywhoodle, it always seemed lonely to me.  I know it's a big mirror, but I thought it needed a little brother or sister next to it.

I got a pair of wall art from a yard sale recently and thought it was the perfect solution.

Still not  happy.  Little brother and sister needed a baby brother and sister.  So I added these from Hobby Lobby.

Better, except now the wall scape is wider than the sofa.  I still wasn't happy.

So this is what I came up with for now.

I'm happy.

for now....

It looks great, Kim! And, I'm sure you'll find plenty of places to use the mirror. I've got a lonely mirror in my living room. I'll have to see if I can find him some wall friends :)

I like how the bottom pieces go so well with your throw pillows on the loveseat, Kim! Great colors you have in here; these are what I like in my home, too.

I really love that Kim! The mirror was great too but this has lots of charm and warmth and actually feels lighter (which is weird since that is normally what a mirror does). :-) Thanks so much for sharing this with us at Inspiration Friday this week!

I liked the way you changed your wall up each time. The mirror is a keeper. The newer coffee table I really liked. Trish

I'm having a dilemma like this too. Huge wall, huge oil painting but keep feeling like it needs something. Yours looks great!

I kept thinking every step was better and better...how did you do that and not have a bad choice in the lot?? The end result is just lovely.

Beautiful changes, Kim !! I love the new grouping and the wall pocket tucked in the middle is perfect. Although, I must admit, my favorite accessory in your room is that precious playstation peeking out. :) Glad you're on the mend !!

I love love love it! Adding that wall planter in the center is a brilliant idea! It anchors everything so beautifully! Oh did I mention that I love this? I'm also loving your new profile picture... What did you do with that gorgeous piece of mirror? Yard sale wall arts are so pretty, are those decorative painting done on them? I like the added touch of the metal scroll work at the top. Thanks for sharing with us. Have a wonderful weekend!~Poppy

Its screaming for a paint job. Maybe. heehee Hope you're having a great Wednesday! And oh my, 41 and a baby! I wouldn't have the energy. But he is a cutie! : ) ~ Catie
