So Easy A Caveman Can Do It

I'm about to share with you a design secret that's been in my family for generations. Actually it hasn't, I just felt like sayin that. Truth is, my dear sister, Beuhler (not her real name, but the only name I ever call her because eveybody and their mother knows her!) shared this secret with me awhile back and it's changed my life forever.

I've decided that the best way to share this secret with you is by giving you a demonstration. I'll do a before....... and then an after. The theme is kids rooms. Specifically, a teenage girl's room. To achieve the sought-after designer look of this dramatic makeover, you must have two things. First, a great imagination. All of the great designers have this in common and it's not as hard as you may think to acquire. Secondly, a huge amount of will power. And that's it! Easy peasy. Even betta, I'm gonna show you how to do it in less time than it takes to say

What? Elbow grease? Fuhgetaboutit! This project is so easy you won't even break a sweat.
So are ya ready???
Here is the before:

And here is the after:

For your added convenience I've even included a list of materials. Cuz I'm nice like that.

Materials:
1 Door

Getting Started

Step 1: Walk up to your teenager's room.
Step 2: Shut the door.
Step 3: Every time you walk past the door, imagine that it looks like the after picture above.

Now, this designer secret can also be used in playrooms, basements and messy bathrooms. Just about any room that gives you the creeps or induces intense nausea when you walk by qualifies for this easy makeover tip.

Feel free to share this with your friends, co-workers and family members - especially those with teenagers.

Sis,
I luv ya so much, even if everyone now thinks that my presentable house must be a mess behind all closed doors! HaHa, only kidding! I feel it is my mission to share this wisdom since we need to pick and choose our battles with teenagers! If a few (actually tons) of clothes on the floor doesn't bother them, then I have learned to not let it bother me either, as long as the door is shut! That has made for much peace in my house and it is worth it. Happy door shutting!!
Luv,
Bueller

LOL, love it! Great idea and I still have a messy 21yo boy who lives at home when not at college, so this trick will work great!

I am laughing out loud! Love the way you built this up. I couldn't wait to see the transformed room! All of my rooms look like a decorator did them (behind the closed doors!). Thanks for the laugh. laurie

Too funny. I'm here by myself laying on my bed reading blogs, and all the sudden your music comes on (a few minutes after the blog started) and damn near scared me to death! :) "Let your love flow"

I have a lot of rooms that need this idea!

You asked me about the fabric covered pictures above my fireplace. I did make those. The fabric is old, it was from the curtains that hung in this house when my husband bought it. I stapled it to three art canvases. It was a quick and easy project!

That could have really come in handy when the girls were at home. Still can use it on a couple of rooms because of me!!!
