Thank you to all of my dear friends for your sweet comments on my last post. For the most part this blog is a no-brag zone, but sometimes a Mom just can't help herself! LOL! You guys are the best and I certainly appreciate the comment love.
Onto my latest loves. I've been on a lucky streak over the past few weeks finding treasures around every corner - from yard sales, to Craig's List, to the generosity of my best friend.
Remember this pic I shared a couple of weeks ago? Well I failed to mention what it was, but some of you majolica-lovers out there guessed correctly. If you want the back story on her, you can read about it here. It's an umbrella stand.
So now of course I'm on the hunt for vintage walking sticks. I nearly scored an umbrella stand full of 'em last weekend at a yardsale, but some lucky lady beat me to the punch. I asked her if I could buy just one, but she politely declined. It never hurts to ask people!
For now I'll enjoy my nearly empty and partially broken majolica umbrella stand in the foyer.
Did you spot my other treasure in the last pic?? It's an antique barometer! I spotted it on Craig's List a couple of weeks ago for $15 and didn't respond right away. When I came to my senses I crossed my fingers that it was still available and I was just in time.
The seller was a sweet lady from Moorestown who was getting ready to downsize. She said it was a purchase her mother made on a trip to Scotland in 1966 and came from an antique store there. Of course that made me love it even more.
And off to the right of the foyer is my other treasure. This one was a gift from Denise who knows that I collect turtles.
She found it at a church rummage sale that I wasn't able to go to. It's a faux leather footstool in the shape of a turtle! How cute is that?
Thank you sweet friend!
And my last treasure is from a townwide yardsale this past weekend.
I see these all the time on Craig's List and even bought one years ago at a flea market that I eventually sold myself on CL. But this one caught my eye for it's unique and beautiful wrought iron base. It reminds me of an old sewing machine.
It's an antique smoking table/humidor.
Not all of these still have the original copper lining, but I was lucky to find one that did.
For now it serves as an end table in my Family Room.
I have a lot of wrought iron pieces in this room so the table sort of fits right in.
Looks like somebody snuck into the picture!
"Mommy, are you blogging again?"
My little guy is gonna be 9 months-old next week!
Denise and I have been busy preparing for our next show this coming Sunday at Clover Market. It's going to be even bigger than last month and the weather is supposed to be beautiful. Can't wait to share pix next week.
Thanks for checking in and have a fabulicious day!
xoxo,
Kim

Love the smoking stand, it is more ornate than most I have seen.
Your little one sure is a cutie and growing so fast.
You scored big this time, Kim!! The umbrella stand fits perfect in that little nook by your door. I'd love to have one...and a coat tree, if I had the room! Love your footstool, too...the legs are gorgeous!! And look at that little guy with the huge brown eyes!! He's priceless!
XO,
Jane
Love the foot stool. I need some little tables for the Pa house going to check out craigslist,
You are going to be at the Clover Market in Ardmore? Maybe I can talk Wendy into a road trip!!
Can't believe that little man is going to be 9 months, where does the time go?
Now that is a cool find Kim! Your daughter is gorgeous and I am so happy she had that experience in NY. I wish her continued success in her journey. And of course brag, if you can't hear, where can ya?!
I wondered what your new table might be and was glad that you explaned that it is a humididor or smoking table. It's an interesting piece.
Great goodies! Love the end table.
it is really beautiful.
I can't believe your litle cutie will be 9 months old already! Where does time go?

Gooooo me! I guessed it right!!! Woop Woop!!! I love your new pieces and that turtle footstool is awesome! I have never seen anything like that! I can't believe how big he is getting. It just seems like yesterday he was born! He is so darn cute!
Great finds! Love that stand.
Your little man is adorable!!
The Man would be jealous of that humidor. He keeps watching Craigslist, but it isn't a priority right now. Love the umbrella stand. Good luck on finding walking sticks.
Our youngest "Grand" will be 9 months on the 30th, & she's like a little bug crawling all over the place!

Such lovely finds. In love with the turtle foot stool but only because of the chair it sits in front of. All these miles away, in Colorado, I have 2 of the very same chair!! Take a look at my most recent post (scroll down). So, that means I have to follow you now! LOL. Thanks for stopping by and for a visit and leaving a sweet comment. I hope to see you soon, even if it is just so you can see your chair's sisters by another mother :)LOL!
Great treasures to find and you displayed them so well.
Your son is adorable.
