Mantle Party!! Whoot Whoot!!

I hate to miss a good party.   So today, while I recuperate from yesterday's grueling yard work, I'm linking up to the Nester for her Mantle Party.

The mantle in our Family Room is the one thing that remains constant in our home.  Aside from Christmas, I rarely change it out for the seasons.  I kinda like it just the way it is.

The wrought iron wall art came from a yard sale and I think I paid $2 for it.  It fit perfectly in the shadow box Mr. Bliss created.
Candlesticks from WalMart.  I added a little Rub n Buff to make the detail stand out more.
Southern Living At Home bookends I won on Ebay and distressed with black paint.
Old leather bound books I got at an auction last Summer for $5.
Last year I won a great giveaway, forgive me for not remembering the blog now, I believe it was Sherri from Design to Shine.  It was a gift card to Hobby Lobby, which I used to purchase this "M" for my mantle.  I just love it!
Reed diffuser from Walmart.
Arrangement from Michaels.
I added this applique after we moved in 11 years ago.
This bench was a Craig's List find and I wanted to show the surround too.  If you have a brass front and want to change it out, it's very simple.  We just pulled off the entire surround and spray painted it black with a heat resistant spray paint, let it dry, and then popped it back on.  My sister told me that some of those brass bars are easily pulled off too, which is another option.

Hope you enjoyed the tour.  Please go check out the Nester for more beautiful mantles!

Hi Kim! I noticed that I commented right after you on a few blogs already today, so I thought I'd come visit and say "Hi!". Love your mantel decor. I have two and they are both a little longer than yours, which I sometimes think makes it harder to come up with stuff to put on there!

Love all your thrifty finds! I must know more about this Rub n Buff stuff?! LOL I'm on the hunt for old books. And some piece (window, frame, iron) to add to my mantel. LOVE yours.

You find the most amazing deals! I think that's what makes your mantel so cool; it looks awesome and you decorated it so frugally!

Kim your mantel looks perfect as is! I would not change it either. Beautiful candles and the scroll art is precious in that spot. Love the "M". *Smiles*.

I hope you are feeling better now. Your yard looks AMAZING! You go girl! I wish I had your energy to work on mine some more. You should see the weeds growing up out of the sidewalk cracks in the front of our home. Yikes! :)
