Enjoying the Outdoors - Finally!!!

Hard to believe you can go from a blizzard in 17 degree weather to a gorgeous, sunny 70 degree day, but that's how we roll here in New Jersey. Today was the perfect day to welcome in the new yard sale season - and so I did. I picked up my BFF, caffed-up and off we went from flea market, to yard sale, to thrift store. Great day to welcome Spring too. So after my morning of bargain hunting, I opened up some windows, aired out the house and pulled out the Spring decorations!!!!

BTW, I'm looking for suggestions on how to morph the back of this china cabinet. Right now it's got some sort of a gold marble design that looks dated. I'd like to spruce it up, but don't know how. The piece itself is sage with black specks. The colors in the rest of the room are blue, yellow, sage and red. Any ideas?????

It's so nice to see this all filled up with your pretty things. You could get some fabric with the colors you mentioned and using a spray adhesive line the background of your beautiful hutch.

your cabinet looks wonderful...I like the idea of wal paper (there is some fabulous embossed stuff out there..and it is paintable if you want to paint it..) or fabric.
thanks for the visit. I am happy to have you on my followers list!
it is really cold here in Alberta. we had a huge snow storm today...so no yard sales here...I admit a little envy now lol
btw....love your blog background! super cute!

Your new piece of furniture is looking right at home!

I'm not a crafty person when it comes to changing furniture. I would probably just paint it (the easiest route). :o)

I love your spring decorations. I need to put some out as well!

Hi Kim! We had that great weather here yesterday too, and he last of the snow finally melted - yay! Your spring decorations are cute! I wallpapered the back of some bookshelves, it's pretty easy to do, measure the area, draw it out on the paper, cut it, wet it, fold it over a couple minutes, then slap it up. Honestly I think it's easier than paint. But I could be saying that because I just finished about 6 coats on my Met project for the week and I'm SICK of painting!

Mornin' Kim! You're cabinet looks beautiful! Love your spring decor! We've had the same weather here in Memphis! Go figure?! I went yard selling yesterday too! I'm so excited about my discovered treasures! I'll do a post about them as soon as I get my camera back! I left it over at my in-laws. As far as the back of your cabinet I vote for fabric! But the easiest and quickest fix is paint. What about red? God bless you today! Lauralu :)

I've seen all over blog-land where people line the back of cabinets with either wallpaper or scrapbook paper. Use double sided tape, and it's easy to change out seasonally or when you redecorate. Looks great!!

Thanks for stopping by and for your comforting words. Hey! I went yard sale hopping too this past weekend. It's a rush I must say! Your china hutch looks nice! I like the idea of fabric in the back. I am working on a project with a similar idea..should have it done in a few days. Have fun with it! Huggy Hugs!

Hi! Love your blog, I think you can do some very awesome things with that cabinet. I love The Gripper, made by Glidden. You don't have to strip or sand, just paint it/prime it, and then paint your desired color onto. I love white myself and think that your cabinet would look gorgeous painted in white!! I am loving your table with all those white dishes too!!

So I went back and relooked at your photos, I see that your white dishes are in your new cabinet-not a table, but I love them anyways!!

Girl, I love it! I bet you had a blast putting your pretties in it!
What ever you do don't paint the back of it.
Here is my 2 cents....get wallpaper or better yet scrapbook papper with a design that doesn't have to be matched up ....the scrapbook papper cost pennies, and is so easy to work with. Line the back of it using double stick tape...if you use wallpaper don't paste it...still use the tape. I did the back of a shelf in my kitchen with the scrapbook paper and I love the way it turned out! I can change it when ever I want to with no problem. Can't wait to see what you do. Nancy

What a beautiful cabinet! You can probably wallpaper the back with some vintage wallpaper repro print.
