Family Room Tour

I'm talking to myself again.  When I don't get a response from anyone else in the house I do that.  I answer myself occasionally too.  This time I told myself to lighten up.  I've been feeling so overwhelmed lately although I can't imagine why.  Maybe I have a few too many things on my plate.  For example, in the past month I have:
- maintained a booth at the Barn
- designed a bedroom for a client
- painted furniture for another client
- did a house cleanout of furniture
- cleaned/polished the furniture and took it to auction
- painted countless other pieces of furniture for Clover Market
- had two successful shows at Clover Market (actually only 1, the other is this weekend and I'm hoping it will be successful).
All of this while juggling my other job as a diaper changing cab driving house cleaning microwave dinner cooking wife and mother to a teenager, pre-teen and 1 year-old.

Of course I can't take full credit for keeping my cool.  I do have something I like to call "Mommy's Little Helper", better known to Pharmacists as Prozac.  I like to wash it down at around 5 o'clock with a glass of wine.  I'm pretty sure that's not dangerous.

I've gotten totally off track here.  The main purpose of this post was to show you my newly redecorated and "lightened up" Family Room.

The Spring banner was a gift from my sweet friend Christina.

More accessories painted blue and some faux Granny Smith apples in an apothecary jar add a pop of color.

Silver and wicker add sparkle and texture.

One of my favorite things to do when decorating is to mix the old with the new.  The antique fan was from a house cleanout and was covered in mold and dust.  With a little elbow grease it becomes a great accent piece and looks fab next to the burlap canister.

A new look for the top of the entertainment center includes clear glass candlesticks, which were a free gift with purchase from Ulta, faux hydrangea stems in a black wicker basket, a moss ball and a grapevine ball for texture and interest, and a pair of mini-binoculars from a recent flea market trip.

It feels so much lighter and brighter in here now.  I just love how clean and crisp it looks.
Now if I could just get myself crisp and clean....
