Finding My Groove

Remember my post about my love/hate relationship with accent pillows?  Many of you shared this sentiment, while others seem to have no problem in this decorating department.  Both sides of the fence shared their ideas and suggestions with me (much appreciated) and I spread my wings a little bit further.

Here's the before of my living room sofa.

BORING!

Now, brace yourself for the after with Priscilla, my new pillow.......

I know, you're laughing WITH me, not AT me.  It's okay.
So maybe I haven't completely tackled my fear of using throw pillows.  But for me, this is huge.

I had Priscilla in the bag to take back to Ross about five times.  Each time she made her way out of the bag and back onto my sofa (sneaky thing!).  I gave up trying to convince her to go back, but I'm holding onto my receipt just in case.

This room has hints of aqua in the rug and on the upholstered parson's chair where my butt continues to spread as I blog.

Also in this room is my favorite trash-picking score curbside rescue.

I haven't given it a name yet, but he looks like an Adonis.  You can read about him here.

Let's have a looky on top so I can have an excuse to join Marty's Tabletop Tuesday party.

The clock was a Craig's List find and is flanked by my some of my favorite antique books.

The teacup and saucer was an anniversary gift to me from a dear friend last year.  What I love about them is that they come on this oh-so-sweet brass holder. The saucer side has a little rooster on it, can you see?  The crystal candlestick I got at a flea market.

Aside from collecting antique books, I also somehow started collecting glass paperweights.  I love 'em!

And the gorgeous ornate frames are from my yardsale travels.  Soon they will be available as chalkboards, memo boards, and cork boards on my Etsy.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great week!

xoxo,
Kim

I love how you name your pillows...I never thought of them having personalities of their own, but I guess they do. I'm not really all that great with throw pillows...I basically like to have something that matches the room. I like Priscilla though, she's a nice punch of color!

I love your cabinet, too. That clock is gorgeous!

Jane

I love the pillow, it is hard to branch out and use a more daring color, but it looks fabulous. Your curbside piece is absolutely stunning and the top is decorated perfectly. I love the old books, frames and the clock. The cup and saucer are so pretty and lovely with the greenery. A stunning vignette. Thanks so much for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty

I like the pizazz your pretty pillow gives your sofa!
I also love your vignette on top your gorgeous antique chest thingy:)
I read the story about it being a throw away...and until my neighbor also threw out a beautiful bedframe as well I would have never believed it was a throw away! Oh well I guess that's where that saying "one persons trash is another persons treasure" came from huh!
I just love people who throw out such nice stuff don't you?!

Thanks for stopping by! I'm your new follower now too!!
Hugs, Sherri:)

That is a beautiful piece of furniture. Priscilla is so pretty. I didn't see your post about pillows, but I also have a love/hate relationship with them. My sofa looks so loney without them, but it seems people are always having to move them to sit on the sofa. What's a girl to do? laurie

Thanks for popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,

Pretty pillow Kim. I loved the vignettes, too.

I am having sofa pillow dilemmas. I haven't found any that strike my fancy yet, so will keep the butterfly awhile longer.

That's quite a nice curb-side find you have there. Very pretty. Thanks for visiting and following at Buttermilk Cottage. Hope you'll come back often. Also hope you'll come and take part in the give away I've got going on now.
Best,
Susan

WOW! I would have turned around for that curbside appeal too!! I really like the empty frames on top. I have an old frame I'm working on now. And as for Priscilla - love her, but I'm from Memphis, so Elvis and Priscilla are like family around here.

Cut the tag off that pillow and throw away the receipt! I'm one of those pillow addicts and have them all over my house. I love the pop of color and the added texture this one brings to your room!

Thanks for the follow, and I'll be following you as well.

I am absolutely in love with your vingette. I am usually not crazy about pictureless frames. The way you have used them in this vingette is incredible.

Kim,
This is a really beautiful vingette. I am usually not crazy about pictureless frames, but the way you have used them in this vignette has changed my mind forever.
