As I mentioned in my last post, Saturday was a banner day for yardsales and flea markets. I started off the morning in an upscale neighborhood in a nearby town and came home with these lovelies.
An adorable ceramic roo-ey for my kitchen for $2.
And a beautiful hand-painted wastebasket that I needed for my powder room. I got this for only $1!!
Here she is tucked next to the vanity.
My luck didn't stop there. A local storage facility was having their semi-annual sale and I spotted these gorgeous aubusson pillows in perfect condition in a bag on the ground.
And there was not one, but two!! I put on my p-p-p-poker face and non-chalantly asked the seller how much she wanted for them. Then giggled on the inside when she said, "Well, I can't take less than $3 a piece for them".....
"Oh, okay I guess..." I replied.....................................NOT! I squealed "I'LL TAKE 'EM!!"
Then she told me that the pillows stuffed inside were actually worth more! Insert Jersey fist-pump here.
Lookin' lovely on my dining room arm chairs, don'tcha think??
Hard to tell from the pics, but they look so pretty against the pale yellow walls and window treatments.
Yeah, I'm happy.
Onto the flea market where accent tables were the theme of the day.
Got this one for $5 and Big Daddy looked at me like I had four heads.
Okay, so it needs a little TLC. I just happen to know a few bloggerettes who excel in the art of painting old furniture and I figured it's time I try my hand at it.
This one was in much better shape. An old drum table for $20 that I'm going to use in my sweet sister-in-law's office/living room makeover.
And of course you remember these.
So many of you asked what I was going to do with them. Well, it just so happens that I have a little side business with my BFF and Etsy partner Denise. The two of us went in on these bad boys and we are going to try to re-sell them. It's going to kill me to part with them though.
Thanks so much for visiting and leaving such wonderful comments. I try so hard to respond to each and every one. Having a new baby in the house makes it difficult though, so please forgive me if I don't respond. I do so appreciate the comment love.
Have a wonderful day.
xoxo,
Kim

Wow, what fabulous finds. I love your rooster, pillows and the tables. I think you really did hit the jackpot. The rooster is gorgeous in your kitchen and the pillows are stunning on your chairs. I can't wait to see the table makeovers. Great job. Hugs, Marty
Great finds, Kim, especially those pillows! I never knew storage facilities did that ~ I wonder if they do it here, because we have storage facilities all over the place {it seems}. A dresser I found is the first piece that I will actually have to do some work on and not just paint.
You always find the greatest things!
Girl you hot the jack pot!!! I haven't went to a single yard sale this year! I need to get my butt out there!
I'm finding it hard to comment because I am having a serious case of end table envy!
Ahhh, those french ones...I'd die. I think I would have paid 300. They are incredible! I seriously can not wait to see what you do with them!
The rooster looks perfect! That Lehman's sign on your blog, is in my neck of the woods. In fact, I just printed out an application to work there.
There she goes again! The world's best fleamarketer/yardsaler!! She's was able to uncover all the best deals once again. I think I am going to name you "The Yardsaler Detective" since you always are so smart to find and come away with such great items! I love the little rooster, and that drum table for 20 bucks? Man, it doesn't get better than that for such a lovely item. For $20, you can paint it hot pink if you wanted to! Great deals, Kim. And I don't think you have to worry about replying to every comment you get. I know that I always try to do that too but, in your case with your new little Baby Bliss in the house, he deserves the attention now, not your blogging friends! I, for one, understand; and I'm sure everyone else does too. Baby comes 1st! :)
Best,

Wow! I love hauls like that! It's been a long time since I've gone hunting.... you're inspiring me. Thanks for sharing your great finds! ~Rachel @ The Olde Farmhouse
Wow! Great finds! I wouldn't have given those pillows a second thought, but you obviously know your antiques! My husband wants to start a Craig's List/yard sale business of buying and reselling. I'm going to have him read your blog! :)
