Who Wants To Party? Bliss-style!

Got alot of ideas swirling around in my head right now.  Not a good scenario given all the extra space up there.  I've got Craig's List on the brain this morning.  I've also been thinking a lot lately (hence the smoke coming out of my ears) about hosting a new blog party.  I love participating in these parties as I'm sure most of you do.  It's a great way to network with other bloggers and share ideas with one another.  So I put those two ideas together, Blog Party and Craig's List, and there you have it.  I'm going to host a party each week where we share with each other some fascinating CL finds from our hometowns.  This can be anything from an absolute Bah-gain, to something you are contemplating buying for yourself or to re-sell, as well as things that are just plain outrageous!  I think this is going to be a lot of fun and a great way to showcase what's hot in other parts of the country.  I'm going to spend the weekend getting this party up and running so that hopefully it will be ready to start next week.  Any day good for you guys?  Be sure to let me know.

And to get you in the mood, here are some examples of what's available in the South Jersey area.

A gorgeous antique desk for $150. Love the kidney shape of this and the wood grain.  Very sleek.

A huge antique sign for $50.  We're talkin over 6 feet long!

How about an antique barber chair.  Yours for only $800!

Fell in love with this needlepoint footstool.  Can't remember the price and it's already gone!  It must have been pricey or I would've snatched it up!

And who doesn't want a sofa that smells like dog and has hair all over it!  What a pose!  Ya gotta wonder what people are thinking!

My jaw dropped when I saw this ad.  $250 for the set.  Ooooooh La La!

An amazing chandy, but way out of my price range at $3,700.

And here are the finds that I'm contemplating.

A very traditional desk lamp for $60.

A chandy a bit more in my price range at $60.

A set of patio furniture from Pier 1 for $300.

A sweet fabric vanity and stool for Amy's room for $125........who am I kidding!

This clock had me at hello.  Asking price is $150.  But what if it ticks, but doesn't tock?  Do I  care?
Oh yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

And this is the part where you share with me which  purchases are worth it, and which I should pass up. See?  We can help each other avoid buyer's remorse in the process of having a good time.  It's a Win-Win!!!

Can't wait to hear from you.
Have a great hump day!
xoxo,
Kim

I would be in divorce court if I went on Craig's list. I have a hard enough time controlling myself with ebay and etsy!

The $60 chandy is a must, girl! It looks great and I think it'll work well in your home. The clock is awe-some! If you want to pay the money, it'll be a beauty to own.

Have fun deciding!

Sweet Kim..what a Fabulous Post! All these pretties (shy of one with the little pooch and all his stray hair..ha ha) made my heart pound. I especially loved the kidney shaped desk and the vanity pieces. Could just visualize one of your pretty girls sitting on that stool, primping their hair and smiling back at themselves.

Have enjoyed so very much your recent visits to my place! You offer such encouragement to a sometimes down and troddened artist. For me, Etsy sales were few and far between this past tax year. But I'm developing a new plan for this coming season. Updating my Artist-Portfolio with new and exciting paintings, and afterwards hope to introduce them to some new galleries.

Know any good agents? I'm sure to need one. I'm really kinda shy, if you can believe it. Especially when trying to negociate with the Big-Dawgs in the gallery system. I need someone who can present my work and charm the daylights out of a potential prospect.

Like I said, KNOW any GOOD AGENTS? Ha ha. I must be high on paint fumes dear friend, because I'm a chatter box right now. I'm thinking it might be the meds I'm taking for all the pollen in the air here in Middle Georgia. But anyhoo..I owed you a really good contact because I've been missing in action for a short bit.

Closing for now..Oh and BTW..I too, would enjoy living closer so we could one day share that cup of coffee. Sounds wonderful, and who knows, if God plans it, it could happen.

Blessings, Love and Wednesday Sunshine, Terri

I have gotten some pretty nice things opff at Craigs List but I must admit that I use it more for sporting tickets than for furniture. This is a brillant idea for a party:)

My favorite item of the ones you listed (that you are contemplating) is the patio set. So worth it:)

Hi Kim!
I love craigslist. Have found some great things there. Have also sold some great things there! Love that vanity! Craigslist is where I go to find those great Estate sales too! Hugs!

That armoire is gorgeous! $250.00 for that AND a headboard? I'd be snapping those up, as long as there weren't any major repairs to be made.

~WOW! Kim my parents have that patio set from Pier 1 and I'm pretty it was really expensive. That is a good deal! Love the desk too. :)

Count me in for the party! We moved to Virginia with only 4 pieces of furniture! Craigslist, auctions and estate sales allowed me to furnish our home without breaking the bank.

I am now your newest follower!
