My Beach Cottage Master

I've showed my master bedroom before, but I made a few small changes and wanted to share it with you again.  Last year Mr. Bliss and I decided to ditch the 90's oak monstrosity waterbed and bring our bedroom into the new millenium.  I wanted a relaxed soothing retreat and Mr. Bliss was happy to oblige.  I've tweaked it over the past year and am now going for a true monochromatic look with lots of white.

The walls are a sage green color.

Before I had the pillows showing the other way to show the bright floral pattern.

The new pattern is sage and white ticking, which I love and it keeps with the monochromatic feel of the room.

I also switched out the dishes recently.  These are a little bit larger than the ones that were there before.
Mr. Bliss made the built-on beadboard headboard.  I wanted it tall enough that I could add something to it if I wanted to, like this wreath.

This view is of the corner of the room, close to the foot of the bed.  It shows the table that I recently scored for $4 at a rummage sale.

I recently switched out the lamp.  Before the table I had a floor lamp here.  This lamp I got at a thrift store for $11.  The shade even came with it!

The silver bowl is Reed & Barton and I got it last Friday at a local Estate Sale for $5.  I had been looking for one to display fruit and this one was perfect.  I love the blue enamel inside against the green of the apples.

Stuck it on top of some old issues of Cottage Living.

This knick-knack stand hold more magazines.

The sweet venetian mirrored box I got at a yard sale this past weekend for $1.

This stand is what you see when you first walk into the room.

To the left is my dresser.  It came with the hideous oak set, I just painted it.  I'm on the hunt for some glass knobs to dress it up a bit.  Also looking for a new lamp.  You can also see the other venetian mirrored jewelry box I got that matches the other one.  It was also $1.

A little vignette.

Off of our master is a sitting room.  This room is still a work in progress, but I'll show you what I've got in there so far.

My Craig's List slipper chair.  Still one of my favorite finds of all time!  The dresser I got at auction for $5.

The chaise I got from my dear friend Stacy when she moved.  It's a peach color.  I dressed it up with some French Country pillows and a blanket that a sweet old blind woman knitted for my late Nana.

The picture wall above is an ongoing project.  I just added those sweet dishes from Walmart of all places!  The white stand is another auction find.

Another view of the bed.

Hope you enjoyed your tour.  I'm linking up with Marty at A Stroll Through Life for her Tabletop Tuesday party and Faded Charm's White Wednesday party and a special Show Off Your Bedroom Party at Bungalow's Parade of Bedrooms!

xoxo,
Kim

Oh me or my..Miss Kim..these rooms are absolutely stunning! Love the new look of the pillows. Your master looks so beautifully serene. I'm truly lovin' that headboard! Every time I see it, makes me want to let me husband make the one he's been going on about since last year.

I think I told you about his vision to put something together using an old sound-board from a vintage piano he came across. I'm going to definitely show him these photos so he can see how yours is put together. It's incredibly geogeous!

Hey, and I agree..the slipper chair from Craigs List was an Outstanding Find! It's lovely. Truly lovely!

Kim, again I tell you..your home is perfection. What I wouldn't give to be able to decorate like you!

Blessings, Love & Tuesday Sunshine, Terri
