Shopped 'til I Dropped!!!

Yesterday was payday, so you know what that means! I went shopping!!!! I went someplace I've been meaning to get to for a long time, but just hadn't gotten around to it - Homegoods. I knew it was going to be a successful excursion when I starting filling my cart the second I got there. I even had a list with me, but that went right out the window when I started spotting things I knew I just HAD to have (yes, I broke my rule again:(...oh well).

I got this for my Dining Room table since it was time to put away the poinsettia.

This adorable apple found a new home on top of my hutch in the kitchen.

I fell in love with this embroidered pillow, so I did the sensible thing and bought two! They found a home on my two Dining Room arm chairs.

And last but not least, I found these beautiful mirrors and used them to make a wallscape in my master bedroom. I love how it turned out.

I then moved my hope chest from the foot of the bed to under the wallscape. I just thought it belonged there.

More on the bedroom. I decided to show more pix of the master makeover. Aside from the headboard, we decided to keep the rest of the set and I painted it cottage white. It changed the whole flow of the room.

Now, before I go I have to share something with you. One of my favorite bloggers, Nancy over at Southern Lady (just click on my bloglist) makes these gorgeous handmade tassels and I ordered one from her Etsy store, Nancyrosalina. Isn't it just adorable on my kitchen hutch? Anyone who loves to decorate (and don't we all?) knows that a tassel can go just about anywhere, so go check out her store! Thanks Nancy!!

Hi Kim, You found some great stuff at Homegoods. I love that place! We don't have one here, but I've been to one in Dallas several times. Love the tassel you bought from Nancy, it's really pretty. I just saw the comment that you want to order an "m" frame. I would be happy to make one. I am in the process of making more frames now, so I will make one with your colors and let you know when I post it. You can pay through paypal or send a check. Thanks, Kristen

Pay day is shopping day at my house too :)

I went to Homegoods for the first time a month or so ago, but I didn't really find anything. I'm more of a thrift store shopper.

We have a huge Marshall's store that used to be called Marshall's Super Store. Then they changed the name to Marshall's Homegoods. I think it might be owned by the same people that own your store. Does your store sell clothes too? Our store has clothes, but some furniture, rugs, and home accessories. I enjoy going there.

You found some great things. I like all the little mirrors. Were they sold in a group or did you by them all individually? Your bedroom looks great and I love the color of the walls.

I have a million questions. :) How did you paint your furniture? Brush, roller, or spray? How did you prepare it before you painted? It looks great and I've been thinking about doing something like that some day.

Thanks so much for coming by my blog. I love all of your "finds". Everyone in Blogland talks about Home Goods, and I don't have one around me. Every time I see something else that came from there, I want to travel great lengths to get to one of those stores! Love your new tassel. laurie

shopping! best therapy in the world, isn't it?

it does help to fill up some empty space and make it more homey and cozy.

i wanted to email you- but u didn't have one here.
thought i'd wanted to drop you a line abt a question you left in my blog earlier- i think you are doing great and these things take time. There's much to be said sometimes, if only we could over our favourite cup of coffee!!
anyway, blogging is a personal expression. Some may like what you said, some not. But give it time, i think more people with the same interests will link up.

You are so lucky to have a HomeGoods close by. You found the most delightful things! I am pillow-happy & just adore the embroidered one. I like the wall of mirrors. I just did a collection of mirrors above a mantle. It was so much fun!
