What Do You Think?

Yesterday I had to take Cole to the pediatrician to get a booster shot and when I got home, my new rug from Overstock was sitting on my front porch.  People, I ordered it on Monday.  That's two days!  And it's the Holidays! Can you believe it?  Well, I was just too excited for words and when baby went down for his nap I opened her right up.  I couldn't even wait for help moving the heavy furniture and I'm not quite sure how I managed to do it myself.  Adrenaline I guess.

And while I love the subdued colors and how they look in this room, I'm just not happy with the size.  And like I've mentioned before, size does matter!

The colors are chocolate brown and chateau green.  The walls in this room are a creamy pale yellow.

I think it adds just enough color without being overpowering.

It will take a few days for it to straighten out from being rolled up I guess.

I really do love it.  Problem is, it doesn't come in a bigger size.

I was going to just keep it, but I'm tired of settling.  Why should I?  I found another one that I love with the same colors and it's the perfect size so I went ahead and ordered it.  And I was going to return this one, but I think I will use it in the Living Room which is just across the hall from the Dining Room.

The rug I have in there now is blue, and while it works, there really isn't any other blue in that room.  I got in from Craig for only $40 and I can easily resell it for that.  I think the rug from the Dining Room will work better with the colors in this room and will add better flow from room to room.

So what do you think?  I'd really like to hear your thoughts.  And honey, if you're reading this, I've been very patient not having a rug in my Dining Room for over a year.  And I was a good consumer, taking advantage of the Holiday sales.  So don't hate me for splurging ;)

I agree, it is too small for your dining room. But it is a beautiful rug and will look wonderful in your living room!

They say, the best way to figure a size of a rug for a dining room, is to sit at the table. Then scoot your chair back, like you are getting up. The chair should still be on the rug, not the bare floor.

Looking forward to seeing your new dining room rug!

Kim, I agree that it is too small, but it would be perfect in your living room. It is a gorgeous rug! When are you getting the Craig's List one?

I love the colors!! But, I think it's too small, too. It needs to be large enough for the chairs when pulled out to sit down...to still be on the rug...not the bare floor. I can't wait to see the new rug! :)

I think the rug is a little bit small, unfortunately, but it sure is gorgeous. I think it will look great in your living room.

This is a gorgeous rug...I LOVE Overstock and I have a couple of rugs from them here and at the lake. I think this will look wonderful in your living room. I move my rugs around all the time, especially seasonally when I want a less heavy look and go with sisal.

I can't believe you moved all that furniture!!

XO,
Jane

I completely agree with you. I love the rug but if it were in my house I'd want it larger too.

Dear Kim, your decoration style is beautiful, I am thinking of having a china cabinet like yours. Could you please put a clear photo of it and I can see it properly.

Thank you
