Fun Finds

We are thankful to God that Irene passed through New Jersey with minimal damage and our thoughts and prayers go out to those who are dealing with the aftermath today.

There was no yardsaling for me this weekend, but I'll share what I picked up last week.
Most of this stuff was picked up at a community-wide yardsale in a nearby town.

The nightstand is solid wood and we picked it up for $5.  It's going to be painted and sold at our show next month.  The vintage fabric was just $2 and I'm sure we'll find something fun to do with it.  The two large prints were just $1 a piece.  I almost left with just one, but then went back for the other.

A set of vintage tins that will be for sale on our Etsy store soon.

The floral print was $1 and the wire basket was just fifty cents! I love this, but may have to sell it at the show.  I really don't have a use for it.

An enamel crock for $1, a vintage ice cream scoop for a quarter and a sweet Regal USA container for $1 are all good scores.  But my favorite find has to be the fan.  It's been on my wishlist for quite a while and this one was a good deal for $12.  I'll share with you what I did with her in a later post.

That's it for now.   I'm busy cleaning the house, getting ready to send the kiddos back to school next week.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulicious week!
xoxo,
Kim

Great finds! Love the vintage fan and the little side table.

I'm glad that Irene didn't do too much damage your way. We got lots of wind and tree debri here on the coast of NC, but otherwise we are okay.

Glad that you all made out ok. We did here as well. My grandmother had a fan like that.

Those are great finds, Kim. My favorite is the fan and the wire basket. I was going to buy a wire basket the other day, then just wasn't willing to pay the price (it was new). Sure wish I could find one for the price you paid!

Kim,
I can't believe you got that wire basket for 50 cents. That was a real steal. I have that same fan, it will be fun mixed in the decor. The nightstand can be used in several places. I think you hit the jackpot. Great finds:)

Hey Kim...

Great finds, but I'm with you. The fan is my favorite. Woot! I'm glad you went back and got the other print. Both of them are great.

Good job! And I'm glad you're safe from Irene!

Hugs,
Nancy

I'm so glad you are ok. Seems like Fox News showed standing water in the New Jersey area...made me worry about you and your home!

Hey girl! I just popped on to check and see if you guys were o.k. I haven't been blogging since I have been at my parents in Tennessee since last week. Irene missed my husband and four legger in South Carolina. I am so glad you weren't affected. Just wanted to check on you!

So glad you were too affected by "Irene." You are certainly having fun thrifting, aren't you? The fan is awesome, as is that wire basket. I went on to read your post about your b-day and returning to your roots. I'd say that's your "bliss," and is exactly where you should be because you revamped your living room into a truly inviting & very blissful space. I love getting ideas from my bloggy-sisters, but I try to stay true to myself.

We are in our new home now, & I'm having a blast unpacking and decorating -- but I don't want to ever move again!

I really love that fan! I'd love it even more if the whole thing were the same blue color as the base! Can't wait to see what you did with it!

I'm thankful that Irene passed over NJ without a huge amount of damage and that you're ok. You found some nice finds. Sometimes I think of starting a shop or doing a show, but I'd have to do a lot of shopping to get enough merchandise to sell. I'd probably want to keep everything I bought. :)
The little night stand is a cutie. What color will you paint it?
Hope you have a great Labor Day weekend.

Good shopping! I've been away, then when I returned, the hurricane had knocked out power and when it came back, my PC didn't work right.
Then I went away again, this time to a fantastic 50's event, and gave a fun seminar on "Decorating 50's Style"
Good luck to the kids on their return to school! I hope you'll find a little time for yourself!
When and where is your upcoming show? I hope to meet you soon neighbor!

Happy Birthday! belated, but if you're like me, still celebrating. My family is so large that we combine birthdays and I just had dinner last night with a birthday-sharing son-in-law! I wish you much happiness! Love, Linda
