More 'Tween Decor, A Winner & Baby Pix!

I can't help myself.  I've gotta show off my latest baby pictures.

We can debate for hours about what's what here, but the ultrasound tech said that's my little guy with his hand up against his cheek and I think he's looking at the camera.  What do you think?

Hey, what's that?  He says we have a winner!  Yep, the winner of my CSN giveaway, generated by Random.Org, is the wonderful Nancy from Nancy's Tidbits.  Here's a tidbit for ya, did you know that Nancy's daughter Hannah, who also has a blog, Turley Times, is due about a month after me with a little girl?  Yep.  And if you visit her blog, you can see some way cool pix of Hannah's baby in 3D!

Congrats Nancy.  Give the lady a hand!

That is definitely a hand...

Now, I probably won't be doing much Holiday decorating around here this year given my situation.  But there's nothing stopping me from tweaking what's already out.  Now don't worry - I didn't move all this stuff around in my condition.  That's what my slaves children are for.

After spending a month straight on the sofa looking at my coffee table, I opted for a small change.

This class hurricane was only $6 at Marshalls.  Filled it with potpourri and plopped a candle in there.  Good to go.

To the right of the sofa is my great aunt's old secretary.  I got bored looking at that too.

So I added that there plate.  I got it a while back at a yard sale and it sat on the island of misfit decor until I found a use for it.  But if I were him, I wouldn't get too comfortable there.

Between episodes of All My Children I glance up at the entertainment center.

Got this piece for a steal at Sam's Club a few years ago and I love it.

Added a cloche to the top right.

Then AMC came back on and I was distracted again.

Next commercial I moved into the brown room otherwise known as my office.  It's really the living room, but it serves as my office/mom cave.  I've been trying to add some sparkle in here to brighten it up a bit.  It was way too dark and heavy with all of the brown furniture.  You can go here to see what I mean.

Well, I made another small change with this elegant mercury glass lamp from Marshall's.  Only $40~

It's the perfect size for my desk.

Here's the before:

And as much as I love this tall lamp, it was too heavy for the room.

This is much better I think.

Don't you hate dangling cords?
Have a wonderful weekend!
xoxo,
Kim

Hi Kimmie! OH, how I loved seeing little darling there! They were not doing this when I was carrying my children and it is truly a marvel! How exciting! He was waving at me! :)
Now I'm glad you didn't move stuff around - I'm sure it's hard not to though.
All your changes look wonderful. I love your aunt's little secretary and your desk too! Nice lamp at a great price!
Well, take care of yourself and let all your family wait on you hand and foot.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Thanks for sharing the baby picture. It is special. I still have the one where I found out I was having twins. I understand how you feel about bed rest and not being able to do much. I had to lay in bed for a month or so and I did get tired of looking at the same old stuff. Your new lamp looks great.

How sweet! I went with my daughter a few weeks ago to see her Ultrasound and it was the most amazing thing! Didn't do that in my day either. My grandbaby is due in April, when are you due?? Glad you didn't do all that moving of furniture either!

Oh...I am loving the pictures of the latest addition!!! He sure is waving away!! Are you feeling it?

I'm glad you are not moving furniture, but I do remember when I had my foot operated on, I sat for 6 weeks mentally moving things around and when hubby got home...look out!! I never missed a beat!!

Take care, sweetie!

Hello Baby Cole!!!!! I love those pictures! So glad he and you are doing well. Love the changes especially the Mercury lamp! Gorgeous! Try scrunching your cords up and using painter's tape to tape them to the back of the desk! I just came up with that but have no idea if it will really work so go, my little guinea pig, make the slaves/children you adore, go give it a try!!!! I mean guinea pig in the nicest of ways you know!

Well, thanks for the nice little shoutout! Maybe I should tell my mom to pick out a baby gift for her granddaughter with her gift card? Haha, just kidding. Those ultrasound images can be super hard to decipher. The 3D images are clearer, but even then I still wasn't sure what exactly I was seeing at first. I really love that new desk lamp. I thought the old one looked fine too, but the "after" picture with the new lamp looks awesome. Have a good weekend!

I love the baby picture:) So cute. I was unpacking today and I ran across a sonogram picture from 16 yrs. ago. I could make it out but it had faded. Such sweet reminders.

Hi Kim! Oh how I love knowing another gal who loves traditional decor but also likes to put some fun "twists" on it...like great lamps! And yes, dangling cords are the worst! I also love your "tween" buffet from the previous post and it gave me some ideas for what to do in my dining room. Thanks for the great inspiration and for sharing the pic of your little one! :-)
