Name My Business Contest/Giveaway!!!

My creative juices have taken a vacation recently so I'm relying on the creativity of my fellow bloggers to help me name my new business. My BFF/might-as-well-be-my-sister-we-are-so-close Denise and I are venturing into the world of Entrepreneurialism. Denise is a paralegal by trade and I am a SAHM capable of so many amazing things yet I haven't been able to choose one in 14 years. At least that's what I tell my hubby when he non-chalantly asks me when I'm going back to work. This is a very exciting time for me as I have truly never felt this passionate about anything. Right now our "business" has no name or location, but we are not worried about that - no sireeee!

Oh, have I told you what we are doing yet??? OOps! So sorry. We are in the Shabby Chic Home Decor business......shocker, I know. We've spent most of the Summer preparing and only have two months to go before we debut. SOOOOO, we can hardly show up on the big day without business cards or a sign. And to have business cards and a sign we first need a name! Normally this would not be a problem for me, but like I said, my juices are on vacation - probably lying poolside on a lounge chair sipping marguaritas with those little umbrella thingies hanging out of them, while I am stuck here, wracking my brain trying to come up with something catchy, like "Not Too Shabby". Hey, don't laugh, it's not that bad.

If you've got something better, and chances are in your favor that you do, the contest rules are as follows:

1. Leave a comment on my blog with your idea for a name. I've given you all the background info you should need, but if you have any questions, just ask.

2. If you are not already a follower, become a follower. This one is not a rule so much as it is a shameful ploy for me to get more followers.

3. Spread the word around blogland that I've got a give-away ova hea!

The winner will be chosen by myself and Denise and announced on Monday, August 17th at 9:00 p.m. and will receive these goodies in the mail.

A sweet little needlepoint pillow, a gold trinket box and three mini tin signs from "At Home America".

Thanks for participating and good luck!

Just wanted to wish you much success with your business adventure. My coffee has not kicked in yet this morning to come up with a name, but I do like the Not too Shabby idea.

I really like "Not too Shabby". The only other thing I can think of is "Shabby Chic Boutique". Might sound stupid. Either way, I'm already a follower and I LOVE those little signs! :)

Kim!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats on your new business venture! That is so exciting! I like your suggestion for a name; and I also like the suggestions already posted above. If I think of something good, I'll post it.

Don't you guys have a Hobby Lobby? We only have one in our area and I'm so glad. Do you have a Home Goods? We don't and that just bugs me! I've heard so many good things about that place.

Good luck finding a name!

Hugs,
Nanc

I did the same thing when I was trying to figure out a name for my new bee and boutique business. They girls came through big time with so many names I had trouble picking one- I did finally- The Bee's Knees- just love it.

I had to ask help for mine so dont think I will be much help with yours- but here's my stab at it

Classy and Chic Boutique
Two Chic Chicks

Hey Kim! It's been a while!!! I miss you and your funny posts. I say, go with your first instinct on the name. If has stuck with you for a while, it will be hard to let go of. Hope your venture goes well. That is what I would LOVE to do! I would love to have an old barn to have a shop where I could re-do everything that could possibly need re-doing!

Best of luck girl. You deserve it!

Well--I already follow you-as you know. I posted about your give-a-way here

I think Not Too Shabby is a cute name. A couple of otherrs that popped in my mind:
2 Shabby Chicks

Shabby Shock or The Shocking Shabby Shack (with a tag line--not too shabby home decor).

Are you putting a bunch of your free furniture in your shop? You could always get all your stuff done up and then make up flyers and tag cars in a grocery store parking lot etc and have a Shack pre-opening PORCH sale. It would be relatively in-expensive-you could have flyers about your new shop opening up and reach people who wouldn't have known about you and bring in some money before the shop opens.

I thought of "Shab with Chic Boutique" along with "Shabby Bliss Boutique". (I used "bliss" from your website name.) Going out of the "shabby" category, pears are popular, and I can tell by your site that you like green. So I thought of "The Green Pear Boutique" or "The Green Pear Home Decor". My son thought of "The Vintage Shabby Chics Boutique", and "Chic-E-Shab Boutique" :)

This was fun!! You have a pretty site, and I will be coming back often. I'm now a follower :)

You could name your store after your cute site name, "Domestic Bliss Home Decor" or "Domestic Bliss Interiors & Gifts". I also thought of Shabby Treasures, Unique Shabby Treasures, and Shabby Interiors & Gifts.

Just a LAST thought :)
