This Little Table Went To Market...

This little table stayed home.

This little table had cute feet.

This little table had none.

And this little table cried "Wee,wee, wee, why did someone spray paint me!"

Poor little guy!  I spotted him on Craig's List last year and knew he had lots of potential.  He waited patiently on the Island until I sprung him a couple weeks ago.  I wanted to wait until I could give him the attention he deserved.

Here he is getting his first bath.

Close-up of his head.

He begged me not to show pictures of him naked, but I couldn't resist!

Mr. Bliss bought me my very first power tool for this job.  An electric sander, called a roto-something-or-other.

It took me days to get all the spray paint off.

Just look at all the detail that black spray paint was hiding!

I stained and poly'ed the top and painted the rest Ralph Lauren Lincolnshire Olive.

Then covered the painted parts with my Minwax stain in Dark Walnut and wiped off.  This really showed off all of the gorgeous detail.

Next I added clear paste wax and then went over all of the crevices again with Fiddes & Sons wax in Rugger Brown.

And here he is in his Sunday best.

And in his new spot in the kitchen.

He looks like a Mr. Bingly to me...

A sneak peak at two projects I have in the works:

Can you tell I have a thing for accent tables??

Thanks for visiting and have a Summerlicious weekend!
xoxo,
Kim

Very Pretty!! You have a lot more patience than I do.
Did anyone warn you that one power tool leads to another and another? :-D
Have a great weekend.

What a job to tackle! Removing spray paint has to be very tedious work but it sure paid off. The little table is now very pretty.

I have a thing for little tables too.

You are too cute Kim! I just love Mr. Bingly and think everyone looks absolutely gorgeous after the attention you gave them. I have a table in my entry almost exactly like the one in the first pic and love it! :-)

Great job! It's a lot of work to strip a little table like that. I love the final reveal. Thanks for inviting me over. I'm off to check out your other projects.

What an amazing transformation! You must have the patience of a saint to remove all that paint. Well worth it though! Are you on Long Island?

Oh yeah! I love the way you do things! You're a woman after my own heart, buy it cheap (or find it free!) and fix it up! Thanks for visiting me at Redo 101, I'm following you back. Can't wait to see what you redo next!

Gorgeous. I love side tables too. It's a curse but a fun one. :) I haven't stripped furniture for ages. It seems all I do now is paint it up and sometimes I get a guilty feeling thinking about how I shamed people that used to do the same.
So should we expect a similar Ralph Lauren treatment on your two need acquisitions? Can't wait to see what you do.
