An Interview With Fate

Me:  Honey, I think you need to go to the drugstore.

Him:  Seriously?

Me:  I know, right?

Him: Whatever.

Me:  See?  One line, I told you it was nothing

three minutes later.............

Me:  Um, is that?

Him:  YES! (not a happy yes, per se, but more like a "YOUTOLDMETHISCOULDN'THAPPEN" yes.)

Me:  I understand sweetie.  I'm just as surprised as you are.  After all, I was sure I was going through early menopause.

Him:  I think there's a big difference!

Me:  Yes, but at my age?  And remember that procedure a year ago?  Ya know, when the doctor told me there was a slim chance of me ever having more children?

Him:  Yeah, I REMEMBER!

Me:  I guess I had some of the signs.....

Him:  Ya think?  Your boobs enter the room 10 minutes before YOU do!

Me:  That is true dear, but still, I really thought it was just hormones.

That was last weekend.  About two days after my visit to a new GYN.  I had been looking for a new gyno since mine is retiring soon and I wanted one that's much closer to my house.

Doctor:  When was the first day of your last period?

Me:  I have no idea.  Ya see, I had that procedure last year, and it's been kind of sporadic.

Doctor:  What form of birth control do you use?

Me:  None, what with that procedure and all.  And then there's my age.

Doctor:  You know there is still a chance it could happen.  You should start using something.

Me:  Of course.

Doctor:  Any changes to your body that you're concerned about?

Me:  Well, my boobs are much bigger and kinda sore, but that's just peri-menopause, right?

Doctor:  I'll give you a pamphlet on natural remedies for that sort of thing.

Me:  Okay, great!

Doctor gives me an internal and sends me on my merry, blissfully unaware, way.

Next day - Yard Sales!  Yippeeeee!
I wake up feeling a little weak, light-headed, tired.

BFF:  What's wrong?

Me:  I think I'm coming down with something.

BFF:  Did you get your period yet?

Me:  Nope

BFF:  Don't you think you should take a test?

At this point all of the events over the past several weeks start swirling around in my head, making more sense by the minute, and me feeling more and more stupid by the second.

No, I was not absent the day they handed out the pamphlet in health class.
Yes, I've heard about this sort of thing happening to women my age all the time.

Me:  Really God, really?

God:  Yes, my child.

Me:  Are you sure I can do this?

God:  Yes, my child.

Me:  Will you help me?

God:  Yes, my child.

Me:  Okay Father.  I trust you.  I know that there is a reason.  You know me, you know my weaknesses, my faults, my strengths, my fears, my limitations.

God:  Yes, my child.

Me:  Thank you Father.  Thank you for this gift, this blessing, this miracle.

Last Sunday's message in church:  If God leads you to it, He will see you through it..........

What a wonderful wonderful surprise! I want a third but The Hubster is not on board. He thinks we will end up with a football team or something like that. A little girl would be dreamy though. So I wait and will let God continue with his plans for us. Who knows maybe a third is out there waiting. Congrats again!!! How exciting!

OMG Kim....thats so ironic I just went through a similar situation this week. Although it turned out that the new baby and a the nuva ring messed up my body and I was on hormone overdrive. Im on a med to regulate me, but I also thought really God, baby is only 3 months old and Im turning 39 soon...really? God has you destiny all planned for you, you just need to trust in him and follow the path he provides. Bles sings to you and the family, and on a funny note. Just think you already have live in Nanny help...thats what I tell my 15 yr old. She says she wont have kids till she's 35 (great birth control) altho we arent even close to that stage yet.
