Gimme a Y! Gimme an A, Gimme an RDSALE & Giveaway News!!!

Last weekend, Yardsale Betty and I braved the heat along with my BFF Denise in search of bargains.
I see tons of crystal decanters at flea markets and yardsales and never get excited about them - they all look the same to me.  But liquor tags are a different story.  I lurve these!  (Who doesn't like a little bling with their Brandy?)  I scored one a while back and then tried to find more on Ebay with no luck - too expensive.

This sale had a box of five mint condition crystal decanters WITH liquor tags!!  I even liked the decanters.

The brass tags are not as valuable as the sterling silver, but I love them anyway.  They are also interchangeable.  You turn them over and they say something different on the other side.

Rye?  Rye not!

My fave - Vodka!

Gin & Tonic would be great in this heat!

Bourbon

Scotch anyone?

All five for $2!!!!  Yippeeee!

At the same sale, Betty scored a series of hardcover books for just $5.

I also added to my turtle collection with this terra cotta outdoor votive holder for $2.

And had to have this crystal serving bowl for $1.

Rounding out this sale were a couple Christmas items.

Both for $1 a piece.

At the next sale I found a pair of silver candleabras  - $5 for the set.

Look closely and you'll see my cable modem hidden in the background and an empty picture frame - cause I'm lazy like that.

Not so noticeable from a distance.

And lastly a fern for $2 from an estate sale.  Yes, you heard me right.  I walked out of an estate sale with a $2 smelly fake fern.

I strongly recommend this product for cleaning fake greenery, especially if you don't know where it's coming from.

It has a funny odor, but that wears off.  You can pick this up at Michaels or A.C. Moore.

Thanks for visiting today.  I hope you enjoyed your stay. Don't forget to enter my CSN Giveaway here  for your chance to win $50 towards the purchase of anything from their online store~

I dunno if this is the best for them or not, but that's what I do :)

Kim, you always find the best deals. I do believe we can call you a professional yard sale queen. Love those decanters and tags. I have been buying some decanters this year. I love how you have those frames layered on that piece.

Hi Kim,
You really found some great loot! You had better luck than I have these past few weeks. I love the crystal decanters. And the old world santa and wreath are great, too! Hold the scotch, make mine a pina colada, please!! :)

Bonnie@Creative Decorating said...

I have never seen decanters and tags like that! You got the steal of the year for that price!

Hey Kim! What great finds! You really did get a good deal on those decanters! I am very fond of your Santa though as I have a bit of a Santa collection myself. Sure wish I knew about this cleaner sooner, I ended up throwing out a smokey smelly fake plant a few weeks ago that I got at a garage sale. It was smelling up my whole porch. I even washed it several times..Oh well! Hope your doing well!

Kristi said...

Thank you for your sweet words! I LOVE those decanters!! They are in a pattern I collect, it's called "wexford" and I have never seen those!! GREAT catch! I love thrifting, it's one of my favorite things to do!
And congratulations on your baby! When are you due? My boys (they are twins) were 7 1/2 when she was born and they help SO much! You will soon see what a blessing it is! :)

Great finds, Kim! And you want to know how stupid I am? My mother had a few decanters like this, with the tags, and I got rid of them years ago. Of course, now that I am older, I certainly wish I still had them. :(
Best,
Gloria

Sheesh! You scored! Those decanters and the tags are beautiful! I've always had a sneaking suspicion that East coast thrifting is better than on the West coast. Yup, definitely thinking this is the case!

Kristi {at} Live and Love...Out Loud said...

Okay seriously, I'm going yard sale hopping in your neighborhood one of these days. The only things I've found at yardsales in my neck of the woods are smelly old couches and nasty used stuffed animals. What is wrong with people?
I absolutely love your blog. It's apparent that decorating is second nature to you. I wish I had your talent, but it's clear to me that I don't. So if you don't mind I'll be stalking your blog for ideas from here on out.
Congrats on your SITS day. It's wonderful to meet you.

Stopping by from SITS. I know that turtle. He's Partylite isn't he? Which makes him an even better bargain!
