A Blizzard, A Look-Alike, And More News!

Cheese and Crackers! Has it really been two weeks since I posted??? Yikes! I hope I didn't lose all of my followers. Well alot has been going on here at MDB, including the Blizzard of the Century! You may remember hearing about it just before Christmas. The whole East Coast got slammed and here in South Jersey we got a whopping 2 feet!
The picture at the top is my trash can which I moved close to the back door before the storm. It was still snowing at that point.
This was the next day.

The kids had a ball of course and it made for a beautiful Christmas.

It was so bad out that it's the only time I can remember in my life that Church was actually cancelled! Fortunately things cleared up a bit and we were able to go to Christmas Eve Eve Service. Our church started this tradition about three years ago and my family quite enjoys it. We go to church on December 23 for the family candlelight service.

Now this next part of my post is truly amazing and for those of you who have already seen this on BJ's blog, Sweet Nothings, you know what I'm talking about. The day after Christmas I was catching up on my blogging and I came across this picture on BJ's blog of her granddaughter Deeds on Christmas morning.

Isn't she just the cutest thing?
Well, my entire family did a double-triple-quadruple-take upon seeing that picture. Here's why:
This is MY daughter Amy:

Is that not the darndest thing? Of course I showed Amy's picture to BJ on the spot and the two of us had a good laugh over it. So far we've been able to fool just about everyone into thinking that Deeds is Amy, including AMY! I showed it to her and she said "what's that I'm playing with Mommy?" Isn't that a hoot! Even her sister and BFF thought it was her.

My last bit of news is that my home has been chosen to be on the local Christmas House Tour NEXT year! I'm half-excited, half-scared-to-death! Of course I'll be browsing blogland for lots of inspiration and I know you will all be wishing me luck. The downside is that I have to keep my decorations up until Jan. 4th so that the committee can come see my decorating to pick a theme for my home. I will be dying to take them down by that point. Funny thing is, I feel like I JUST put them all up! As usual, the entire Christmas season was a blur. But I'm looking forward to the New Year and everything that HE has in store for me in 2010.
May you all have a wonderful New Year!

The picture of Deeds and your daughter is amazing! I saw it over at BJs. How fun.

How neat that you will be doing the Christmas tour next year. At least you know way in advance. Can't wait to see what you do. :)

oh my gosh those pictures are identical. That is crazy....but cool at the same time.

I wish it would snow that much here in North Carolina! We had a lot of snow about 20 miles down the road...but nothing where I am! I am super jealous!

WOW I can't wait to hear about how they choose a theme for your house. What a special honor!

How exciting that your house will be featured next year! I bet next Christmas will come before you know it!

You got more snow than we did in Iowa when we had a snowstorm a few weeks ago! We had about 10 inches. Western Iowa just got pummeled with about 20 inches last week, though.

The snow is beautiful, but please keep it up there! :-) If we had that much here, it would shut the whole city down! How exciting that your home will be on the tour!! Looking forward to seeing how you decorate.

Thank YOU for yoursweet comment about MY sweet comment! I was reading your profile, and I love the "domestic engineer" occupation. I also can't believe all of that snow (I love cold weather), and am excited that our house was selected to be on a Christmas tour!!!!! I'm one of the people that attends those things (here, not there, of course!), and I'm always in awe of the people who's homes are always so beautifully decorated. Can't wait to see the photos of next year--thanks for following me!
