I Did What???

Happy Hump Day!  Hope you are all enjoying a wonderful week.  Here in South Jersey the weather is feeling more like Summer than Spring with the temperature going up to almost 90 degrees today!  Whew!  Not great gardening weather, but that's what's on the agenda.  Or maybe I'll just stay in the air conditioning and catch up on some blogging.

About a week or so ago, when life was still somewhat normal around here, I did some antiquing.  I don't usually shop at actual antique stores because as we all know, the owners of these fine establishments are doing exactly the same thing we do!  Scouring yard sales, curbside, thrift stores, estate sales and the like and then adding zeroes to their prices for the not-so-well-informed.  But that's exactly where I found myself on this particular day when I wandered off the thrifty trail and came face to face with this lovely table.
A beautifully hand-painted antique tilt-top table.  I knew I had to have her, and when I saw the price I knew it was meant to be.....$25!  Must be something wrong with her, right?  Nope!  But I woulda brought her home with me anyway.

I think she looks lovely tucked into a corner in my Dining Room, wouldn't ya say?

I guess it's okay to break the rules once in a while.

Easter Bliss

We enjoyed a lovely Easter this year with the most blissful weather all weekend long.

Our family dyed eggs,

decorated cookies,

and ate lots of good food with both families.  We are fortunate that we live close to my family and Rich's family so that makes for lots of wonderful holidays, but way too much food.

My sweet SIL Robin is such a hospitable and gracious hostess and always makes the most amazing desserts.

Since we usually go to my family's first for dinner at holidays, I try to save enough room for some of her treats.

The girls enjoyed spending time with their cousins from both sides.

And Rich and I enjoyed teaching a most important Easter lesson to our 3rd grade Sunday School class.
We usually have many more students on Sunday mornings, but this week our church choir performed the Easter Cantata and many of our students chose to see that instead.

As the day winded down,
I spotted this little fellow,
who was enjoying an Easter dinner of his own.

I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Easter too.  Have a great week!

See Ya March!

March was quite a tumultuous month for the BIiss family.  I don't ever like to wish the time away as every day is a gift from God and time is so precious with each passing year, but I'd be lying if I said April couldn't have come soon enough this year.  Aside from losing our precious dog Chloe last weekend, we had more than our share of drama - family, school, health - of which I will spare you the gory details.  And on this first day of April, I'm celebrating.  I skipped the gym this morning and decided instead to throw open the windows,

enjoy the fresh air,

listen to the birds chirp,

and sip some hot coffee while I get back to bloggy business.

The pity party is over.  March is over.  Spring is in the air.

Thanks to each and every one of you for your kind and thoughtful words during this difficult week.  You are all SO special to me and SO important to me and your prayers and concern meant more to me than you will ever know.
God Bless You all!!!
Have a very, very Blessed Easter.  God is GOOD!!!
Hallelujah!
