I think what is bugging you is that the mirror is the only heavy thing against that wall -- TRUE.

Replace either the lamp or the lampshade with a black or dark shade. Remove the two striped pillows from the sofa and replace with two dark pillows for symmetry.

You need additional height on the cocktail table and COLOR. Fill that plate with red balls or something very colorful.

OK -- that's what I think.

I also like Debbie's suggestion above, if you can move the sofa.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2551039893085903284.post-32644905213972770312010-02-11T12:25:36.481-05:002010-02-11T12:25:36.481-05:00I do not think it needs sconces either, Another th...I do not think it needs sconces either, Another thought and I can't see the entire room, but what about floating the couch facing the TV armoir? and you could put a sofa table under the mirror with that lamp you have there in the corner and some other decorative items....just a thought.....but as for the mirror it is a great piece and needs nothing more IMO!~ Love those pillows on your couch too. I think ...Hmmmm, not sure I would lower the mirror. I think it looks well balanced now. But apparently I am in the minority. lol! I don't think you should add anything to the sides of it. But possibly a small print of some kind above the table to the right of the mirror(between the sofa and fireplace). Not sure how that will work with your clock though on your other wall.Barbiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14432374931634637986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2551039893085903284.post-65751156217268516142010-02-10T20:01:39.140-05:002010-02-10T20:01:39.140-05:00Hi Kim!

I agree with some of the others about lowering it just a bit. I also think if you put some "heavier" pillows on the couch you would see a difference. Something a bit darker with a contrasting piping. Since they are right under the mirror it would bring more attention to it. I agree with the others too about putting a chunkier piece on the left side of the couch.
The room is already pretty so matter what you decide it will look great!

p.s. I have one out there right now under the "Junky" patio set, but it's pretty BLAH. I might just paint it!

Okay, your room...
Agree that the mirror should be lowered just a few inches, but have someone sit on the couch when you lower for a "head check" Don't want head injuries!

I don't think you need anything else up on the wall.

I would, however, look for a bigger, chunkier square table for the left side of your couch and use the one you have somewhere else. It's getting dwarfed by the size of your sofa.

Good luck! It's such a prominant piece and I don't think it needs anything on the sides. If anything, lower it a bit. But that would all depend on how it looks in person.

NancyAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00601073005728827355noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2551039893085903284.post-1406618386842389422010-02-10T17:51:05.777-05:002010-02-10T17:51:05.777-05:00Hey there Kim! Not sure it needs anything on the sides it is already very large. I'm sure it looks different in person. I see things differently, too when I see my rooms in pictures...KimKim @ Savvy Southern Stylehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12493624262438266840noreply@blogger.com
