Oh yes, I did.....
After much consideration I've decided to replace the hardwood floors in my kitchen (insert gasp here) with porcelain tile. You're probably thinking I'm crazy, and you'd be right. But not because I'm tearing out perfectly good floors that are a mere two years young. That decision came at a relatively sane moment, and if you're like me, those moments are few and far between.
Are gleaming hardwood floors beautiful? Yes. Are they in good shape? You betcha.
And in a house with no children, no pets and no husband, they'd be perfect in a kitchen. But not in my world. Not in this house. These days, I'm all about low maintenance. With a teenager, a fifth-grader, a new baby, a dog that sheds and a husband who refuses to take off his muddy shoes, sweeping and swiffering hardwood floors on a daily basis does not fit into my day. Of course
So at the end of the day, it's a win/win. I get my porcelain floors, my man is happy (for a whole week) and the swiffer will take it's rightful place in the closet, never to be seen or heard from again.
